Dodge Weapons Carrier 3/4 ton 4x4
Differences between early and late U.S. models
The Early and Late 3/4 ton 4x4 Dodge Weapons Carrier differ in many aspects, and apart from minor engine changes the following 'Cosmetic' changes will make it easier  to recognise these differences.
In the following pictures the early model is shown left , the late model on the right.
The first notable  difference is height/depth of the body at the front side
The early model  stand 22.64 "/ 57.5 cm , while the late  model  is  18 "/ 45.7 cm high
The lefthandside of the early model is long , no space between sparewheel and rearbody , where the last model had  a short leftside = space between wheel and body.
Actually except for the prototype , there where 3 body types,
Nr.1 =  High front end , long left side , long right side.
Nr.2 =  Low front end , long left side , long right side.
Nr.3 =  Low front end , short left side , long right side .
The rear end does not differ , early from late , here the missing pioneer rack is the only difference
The rearbody interior  came in two types ,both with a wooden floor with metal strips, the early model had metal lockers with white-oak wooden benches, the later had all wooden lockers
The early Dodges had the emblem on the nose , and /or on the sides of the hood, the later had none
The grille comes in two types as well, the early type has the vertical bars crossing -through- the horizontal bar, the late vertical bars are -welded to- the horizontal bar.
The lamp grilles  below show the 3 types used, left the prototype (taken from the 1/2 ton Dodge) , the early production in the middel (both sides the same), the late model to the right (only the left-hand-side longer to take the blackout light)
Fuel  fillercaps come in small size for early models and bigger size for late models
Even a simpel part as these hooks come in two models, a cast one for the early models , a stamped one for the later.
